BotW - "Tom Saywer" by Rush
There were a few good uses this week and while I don't talk about The Office here because it doesn't use music very often, I do want to mention the great use of "Life Is A Highway" by Tom Cochrane as Michael, Holly and Darryl drive to Holly's new place. I love the song and I loved them all singing to it as they were on their road trip. But, with that out of the way now, let's get to the Best of the Week.
TVSM Picks
90210
- "The World Should Revolve Around Me" by Little Jackie. Performed at Homecoming as Annie & Naomi arrive. >/+ | Download
- If only the world did revolve around me, then I would probably be really huge and as heavy as the sun. Which would probably suck. Speaking of which, I guess that explains the name Little Jackie.
Brothers And Sisters
- "Don't You Evah" by Spoon. Justin brings Rebecca dinner in bed. >/+ | Download
- I fell in love with this song last year and still rather enjoy hearing it now.
Gossip Girl
- "Crash And Burn Girl" by Robyn. Dorota interrupts Blair's fantasy. >/+ | Download
- I'm a sucker for such gooey pop music, what can I say?
- "With Light There Is Hope" by Princess One Point Five. Chuck finds Blair in Serena's room. >/+ | Download
- This is a cool song and a pretty one at that.
- "How Soon Is Now?" by T.A.T.U. Max photographs Agnes & Jenny dancing. >/+ | Download
- T.A.T.U. is coming back! No, really, I do like this song and rather enjoy them quite a bit. This is an interesting track with a dark side blending in with the pop. Also, this would be the runner up for our Best of the Week because the use of the song was really awesome and fit perfectly with the scene.
Grey's Anatomy
- "Days Go On" by Greg Laswell. Surgeries. >/+ | Download
- More Greg Laswell this week and another great song from him.
- "From The Valley To The Stars" by El Perro Del Mar. The Chief apologizes to Meredith; Lexie convinces Cristina to euthanize the pigs. >/+ | Download
- This was another one of my favorite music uses this week. I love the sound of this track and it fit with the scenes so well. This is the kind of music I expect Grey's to introduce us to.
The Hills
- "Ghosts" by Ladytron. Corey & Audrina go out to Kitchen 24. >/+ | Download
- This is a strange but interesting song. It reminds me of a strange cross between Enya, Fleetwood Mac and Silversun Pickups. Yep, I'm gonna stick with that description.
Privileged
- "Redeemed" by Charlotte Martin. Megan's dad apologizes; the girls show Megan their signed volunteer form. >/+ | Download
- Wow, I love this song! I'm a huge fan of her voice and the piano in this song. It also builds over time making it more dramatic and exciting. This could be one of my new favorite songs.
Ugly Betty
- "You Are Free" by Mates Of State. Betty shows Jesse her business card. >/+ | Download
- Here's another one of my new favorites. I have always enjoyed Mate Of State but this is now my favorite of theirs.
Best Of The Week
Chuck
- "Tom Sawyer" by Rush. Chuck meets Morimoto; repeats as Chuck & Lester play 'Missile Command'. >/+ | Download | Watch
- In all honesty, there couldn't be a better winner this week than this song. It was used so prominently in the show that any and all other music uses just couldn't compare this week. It's funny how one week there's a lack of good uses, and then the next week there are several worthy of our Best of the Week.
