BotW - "Comes And Goes (In Waves)" by Greg Laswell

I'm not sure if it's just me, but the shows I watch just haven't been producing great music uses lately.  That's exactly why I didn't even post a Best of the Week last week.  Having said that, I'm going to try a slightly different way of doing things in this segment.  I'm hoping to list my favorite tracks and highlights, rather than the best uses, and then I'll still post one track that was the best use.  It will simplify my ability to post and simplify (I hope) your ability to discover the new music.  So here we go:

  • Seriously, how could anyone not like this song?  Okay, I know that a lot of people don't, but it takes me back to my youth and that's why I like it.
• "MMMBop" by Hanson. Dick Duffy. >/+ | Download
  • I'm a sucker for this crap, what more can I say?
• "Smack My Bitch Up" by The Prodigy. Sarah vs Heather in the showers. >/+ | Download
  • Cool song and it reminds me of Alias.

Gossip Girl

• "Snowflakes" by White Apple Tree. Bart returns. >/+ | Download
  • I like the beat of the song and the bells.  This could be another band that gets a lot of TV music play.
• "Psychotic Girl" by The Black Keys. Vanessa takes Chuck to meet Horace. >/+ | Download
  • I love the southern twang of this track along with the taste of gospel.

Grey's Anatomy

• "Love, Save The Empty" by Erin McCarley. Callie & Erica take it slow; the 'Shepherd Method'. >/+ | Download
  • I think that I've mentioned this before, but I really love Erin McCarley's voice.  While I don't like this track as much as "Pony", it's cool enough.
• "These Quiet Times" by Shady Bard. The domino surgery. >/+ | Download
  • All I have to say is that this is a pretty song.

One Tree Hill

• "Long Gone" by Chris Cornell. Peyton's dream; Owen drags Sam home to Brooke; Mouth arrives home; pancakes. >/+
  • This song seems pretty unique and I like it like that.

Privileged

•  "Memories" by Waldeck. Megan tells the girls she's dating Jacob. >/+ | Download
  • I swear I've heard this song somewhere before, but I have no idea where from.  Regardless, it reminds me of Duffy and Lily Allen which is generally a good thing.

Grey's Anatomy

• "Comes And Goes (In Waves)" by Greg Laswell. Lindsay realizes that Stan made his choice; Alex yells at Kurt's son; Lexie confronts George. >/+ | Download
  • This was a great use, mainly because the acting was really good during the song.  Also, I believe this is the first time in a long time that Grey's Anatomy actually had a Best of the Week.  These days it seems that the songs they use just blend so much into the background that they're not even worth checking into.  But Greg Laswell is one of my favorites and it only makes sense that this was his song in the scene.
