BotW - "Love Train" by The O'Jays

Everybody now, Backstreet's back, alright!  Not really, but all of the shows that matter did return this week.  What did you hear and what did you miss?  Let's start from the top.

Gossip Girl brought us some great music with "Moon River" (>/+) by Henry Mancini during Blair's dream and "Sour Cherry" (>/+) by The Kills when Jenny and Nate arrive at Butter.

Over at Seatle Grace, we were blessed with new music from Lykke Li called "I'm Good, I'm Gone" at the beginning of the episode and as the contest heats up (a great song use by the way).  Grey's Anatomy also used "Some People" (>/+) by Goldfrapp as the Chief & Alex discuss underdogs and the bear attack guy received bad news.  Some new Greg Laswell also showed up with "What A Day" (>/+) during the end montage.

The Hills presented Forever The Sickest Kids song "Whoa Oh! (Me vs Everyone)" (>/+) as Lauren, Audrina & Lo get ready to go out to GOA.  We also got new Death Cab For Cutie with their track "I Will Possess Your Heart" (>/+) when Audrina & Justin Bobby reconnect over drinks.  And finally some more OneRepublic with "All We Are" (>/+) as Lauren & Lo tell Audrina about their plans to get a house.

One Tree Hill gave us one of my favorite songs, "Ride" (>/+) by Cary Brothers during the early morning montage.  "In Loving Memory" (>/+) from Jamestown Story was heard when Mouth tells Millicent he's been offered a job in Omaha.  Another cool song, "Along The Way" (>/+) by The Honorary Title was used as Haley & Peyton offer to help Brooke with her baby plans and Mouth asks Millicent to move in with him.  "Birthday Song" (>/+) by The Shapes was used during the nanny interviews.  Last but not least was "Roadway Hymn" by La Rocca used during the final montage.

Reaper brought us "Let's Stay Together" (>/+) by Blindswitch during "Beers of the World".  Plus a unique track from That Handsome Devil called "Squares" (>/+) as Sam tells Sock & Ben about the demons' plans.

Smallville had some music uses this week including the popular VH1 track from Duffy called "Mercy" (>/+) heard at the Ace of Clubs and as Chloe & Jimmy go on their separate missions.  There was also a cool Bitter:sweet track called "Dirty Laundry" (>/+) as Chloe and Jimmy dance.

There were also tracks used on Supernatural and Ugly Betty, but I'll let you check them out for yourselves.  It's now time for the best of the week and that honor goes to Scrubs.  While the show also aired "Little Victories" (>/+ | Watch) by Matt Nathanson as Kelso leaves the hospital, the best song use of the week goes to "Love Train" (>/+ | Watch) by The O'Jays during JD's patient moving fantasy scene.  Great song, for a great scene.  Only Scrubs uses music so consistently well for comedy.  It's unfortunate that the show seems to almost be over (barring ABC picking it up for another season).  I will truly miss it.  Check out the scene for yourself and let me know what your favorite track was this week.
