BotW - "Radar Love" by Golden Earring
While there weren't as many great music uses this week, there were some great tracks. "Second Hand Lovers" (>/+) by John Ralston was heard on Gossip Girl when Dan & Serena are interrupted by Vanessa, then Rufus. During Dan's dream where he's getting sex tips from Nate and Serena Air's "Photograph" (>/+) is playing in the background, which helped make the awkward scene even more hilarious. "With Me" (>/+) by Sum 41 was also heard during the final scenes of Gossip Girl. Then there was the rather entertaining moment of Callie being interrupted during surgery while listening to "ILUVITWHENYA" (>/+) by Northern State on Grey's Anatomy. Another funny moment this week came from Reaper, as Sock dances to lure the ladies he's listening to "Horny Pony" (>/+) by Spektrum. Scrubs used a cool track by Trik Turner called "Friends and Family" (>/+) during its closing montage. Finally, while I do not watch Smallville, "My Eyes" (>/+) by Travis played as Clark and Lana go horseback riding.
With lot's of great music, you'd think that there would have been more great uses, but hey, I guess you can't ask the music supervisors to be perfect every week. That said, "Maneater" (>/+) by Hall and Oates had a nice use in Chuck as Anna and Leseter steal Tang's keys. But even more practical than that was Reaper's entire episode dedicated to one track. "Radar Love" (>/+) by Golden Earring was the song kept on repeat as Sam tried to solve this week's soul mystery. It's not often that a show can base an entire episode around one track, but they did a good job with this one. "Best of the Week" goes to you Reaper, keep giving us great new music!
