BotW - "Believe" by The Bravery
This week had a few tracks that were worth mentioning. While none of them were absolutely perfect, there were certainly contenders. I thought that Will.I.Am's "I Got It From My Mama" (>/+) worked great for the field hockey fight in Gossip Girl. By the way, is it just me, or who comes up with "Will.I.Am" as a name and why must it be strange and include periods in between the words? It just makes for more difficult searches. No one likes that. Anyway, I also liked the use of good ol' James Blunt's "Same Mistake" (>/+) on Private Practice during the baby switching scene. I was a little ambivalent about the show last week, but they really showed how interesting and good the show actually could be this week. Bravo!
But the real reason you're here is to learn about the best of the best. That one goes out to The Bravery and their song "Believe" (>/+). Used at the very end of Reaper this week when Sam finds out he'll be working with Andi. That song has A) excellent lyrics for the scene B) a great tone for the scene and C) is a perfect fit with the rest of the show's music. That and the song has moved up to my number one this week as I have been playing it nearly nonstop. And when it comes down to it, doesn't that count as being part of a good music use? I think so. Not to mention that it has been used in some promos as well, such as Friday Night Lights. They could be the Snow Patrol of this season.
