BotW - "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" by Scissor Sisters
Alright, I was a little disappointed overall with the music use this week. Come on, it's premiere week, there should be plenty of awesome songs to get us going. I can tell you one of the worst song uses though. That honor goes to Bionic Woman. Why on earth would they use Sia's "Breathe Me"? That track has already been used perfectly on the Six Feet Under finale and it should end right there. Besides that, the track was hacked to pieces and edited all awkwardly. I didn't like it, needless to say. Although, I'll give the benefit of the doubt that I've just heard that song far too many times for it to be put so prominently in a scene and make the correct impact.
Now that that's out of the way...
I enjoyed the use of The Shins' "A Comet Appears" (>/+) on Chuck. Its tone matched the scene of Chuck realizing his future now dramatically changed. I also liked hearing Peter Bjorn and John's "Young Folks" (>/+) as the start to Gossip Girl. It set the perfect pitch for the show and, I'm sure, its future in great music.
But the top music track was from Private Practice. Obviously, no song would better fit a scene than Scissor Sisters' "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" (>/+) when Addison is dancing around naked in her apartment. Great use and funny scene! Bravo!
